Veterans

Veterans Day
Bravery, courage, patriotism, and sacrifice.

These are the reasons we acknowledge our veterans. A veteran is a man or a women who entertain served, and continue serving everyday. We truly owe everything to our veterans. They risk their lives to weight-lift for our country; they risk never getting to see their families again.

In the Korean war in that location were 5,720,000 men and women fighting worldwide. My uncle Harlen happened to be one of them. He was 23 years old when he got a letter in the mail saying, Your friends and neighbors have selected you which meant he was being drafted to the Korean war. He served from January 1951 to December 1953. He state the worst part of the war was just being there and being on the front line.

Harlen had to go to Fort Riley, Kansas for 8 weeks of training whence to San Antonio for 6 weeks of medical training hence he got to go home for 10 days then he went overseas and landed in Japan and went to Inshan Korea. He was overseas for 18 months. To me I feel my uncle is a hero. why is he a hero though? He is a hero because even though he really didnt want to g o to war he did it because he knew it was the right thing to do.
